Starting next week, all 3rd Block classes will compete to see who can collect the most cans and money for the student hunger drive. The winning class will earn an ENERGY DRINK PRIZE for the entire class! Start collecting and bring in your cans and donations October 12-16

Interested in proving your proficiency in a second language? STAMP testing will be happening on December 10th. Money is due to activities by Friday, November 13th. Please stop by Mrs. Doherty's classroom, D264, or talk to your current language teacher for more information.

We are so excited to announce the HOBY Youth Leadership experience is now open for registration. The conference is June 4, 2027 thru June 6, 2027 at Drake University. If you are a sophomore and interested in this opportunity please stop into Student Services and talk with Mrs. Cauwels regarding this amazing opportunity.
Printz-award winning author A.S. King will be at BHS on Monday, Nov. 16! Click the link in your announcement email to sign up for the author visit. It will be during 3rd block and students will be excused to attend on a first come, first serve basis. Both students who already enjoy reading and students who do not already enjoy reading are encouraged to sign up.
The BHS Iowa Youth Straw Poll is open from today, Monday, October 5, through 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Students can participate by accessing their student email and following the link to the poll along with information about each candidate on the ballot. Make your voice heard!

The library is doing a coloring contest! Stop in the BHS Library to grab a coloring page. Entries are due Mon, Oct. 12. Winners will be announced Fri, Oct. 16.

Seniors, as part of your high school graduation requirement, you must take and pass the Iowa Civics Exam. The social studies dept. will be hosting a weekly testing session to help you with this requirement. Mr. Wiley will be hosting a session on Thursday. Sign up Now! Book Club is finishing Animal Farm! We will have our final discussion during Pride on Thursday, Oct. 8th in the library. It's not too late to join! It's a short book and a quick read.
